Google Launches Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform at Next
This week’s signal: Google Cloud Next declared “the experimental phase is behind us.” and also enters the enterprise agentic platform race with “Gemini Enterpise Agent Platform” , positioning the entire stack - data, agents, SI channel - as a single governed layer enterprises will standardize on.
Also signals on how AI infrastructure is actually consolidating - not through acquisitions, but through compute contracts. Amazon locked in Anthropic with $25B and a 10-year, $100B AWS commitment. SpaceX offered Cursor $60B not in cash but capacity - access to Colossus. The pattern: whoever controls compute is now dictating terms to the application layer.
AI Feature Releases
OpenAI --- GPT-5.5 + ChatGPT Images 2.0. GPT-5.5 (April 23) matches GPT-5.4 latency at higher intelligence and lower token cost across agentic coding, computer use, and knowledge work; available Business and Enterprise in ChatGPT and Codex. Images 2.0 (April 21) delivers the first reasoning-native image model. Together they mark OpenAI’s clear position combining chat, code, and image generation. OpenAI GPT-5.5, OpenAI Images 2.0
OpenAI - Codex Labs + workspace agents. Codex Labs pairs OpenAI with Accenture, Deloitte, and TCS to deploy Codex into enterprise engineering at scale - 4M weekly developers, up from 3M two weeks prior. Workspace agents launched in research preview for Business and Enterprise: persistent cloud agents running across ChatGPT and Slack with org-level controls, approval flows, and memory. OpenAI
Google - Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. Cloud Next ‘26 centerpiece (April 22): a full-stack platform to build, deploy, govern, and optimize agents, with Agent Designer, Agent Gallery (prebuilt agents from ServiceNow, Salesforce, Workday, Oracle), and Workspace Intelligence GA. Google’s own 75% AI-generated code rate and 90%+ SOC alert reduction served as the reference deployment. Google Cloud
Google DeepMind - Deep Research and Deep Research Max. April 21 via the Gemini API on Gemini 3.1 Pro. MCP support lets a single call blend public web data with private enterprise databases; Max tier runs extended compute for overnight batch workflows. Google co-designing MCP servers with FactSet, S&P, and PitchBook for financial services. Google DeepMind
AWS - Amazon Bedrock AgentCore update. April 22: new managed harness cuts infrastructure setup from days to minutes; pre-built skills packaged for Claude Code, Kiro, Codex, and Cursor; Policy controls add deterministic guardrails outside agent code. Epsilon, Cox Automotive, and Workday cited in production. AWS Blog
Microsoft - Claude Mythos integrated into Security Development Lifecycle. Anthropic’s restricted cybersecurity model joins the SDL of Microsoft. Mythos has found thousands of vulnerabilities across operating systems and browsers since April 7; Microsoft’s own CTI-REALM benchmark showed substantial improvement over prior models. Multi-model scanning platform enters preview June 2026 - a governance template other software vendors will be pressure-tested against. Microsoft MSRC
Moonshot AI - Kimi K2.6. April 20, open-weight: first open-weight model to beat GPT-5.4 on SWE-Bench Pro (58.6 vs 57.7), with 300-agent parallel swarms, 256K context, native multimodal, Modified MIT license. Validated by Vercel (+50%), Factory.ai (+15%), CodeBuddy (+12%); one test ran autonomous incident response for five days without human intervention. The cost-effective benchmark leader for enterprises evaluating open-weight alternatives to Claude Code or Codex. Moonshot AI
xAI - Grok Build + Grok 4.3. Grok 4.3 pushed to Heavy subscribers mid-week with stronger frontend coding. Grok Build - a local-first CLI coding agent with Arena mode (runs multiple agents against the same task; user picks the winner) - listed April 23 and shipping imminently. Arena mode is a genuine architectural differentiator against single-agent rivals. TestingCatalog
Venture & Market
Amazon - $5B investment in Anthropic, up to $25B committed. April 20: $5B now plus up to $20B on commercial milestones; Anthropic commits $100B to AWS over 10 years and secures 5GW of Trainium capacity. Anthropic disclosed run-rate revenue above $30B, up from $9B at end of 2025. These deals are now structured as decade-long compute contracts, not conventional equity rounds. Anthropic, CNBC
SpaceX/xAI - option to acquire Cursor for $60B. April 21: SpaceX holds the right to buy Cursor post-IPO at $60B, or pay $10B as a collaboration fee now - preempting Cursor’s nearly-closed $2B a16z-led raise. CNBC, TechCrunch
DeepSeek - first external fundraise at $20B+ valuation. Tencent and Alibaba in talks for DeepSeek’s debut round targeting $300M+ at $20B+; Tencent proposed up to a 20% stake. The bootstrapped lab that triggered a global selloff in January 2025 is now seeking cloud capacity from the hyperscalers it disrupted. Talks ongoing, nothing closed. Bloomberg
Google Cloud - $750M partner ecosystem fund. Embedded forward-deployed engineers at Accenture, Capgemini, Deloitte, PwC, and TCS. Deployment execution is now a competitive moat alongside product. Google Cloud Press
Startups to Watch
Omni (AI-native BI) - natural language analytics over enterprise data warehouses; $120M Series C at $1.5B led by Iconiq Growth. The query layer agents need to reason over structured business data - increasingly a prerequisite for production agentic deployments.

Google Cloud Next ‘26: (Google announcements at Next)
Three structural shifts worth tracking.
The Gemini Enterprise Agent Gallery - prebuilt agents from ServiceNow, Workday, Salesforce, and Oracle, deployable in one click - changes procurement dynamics: enterprise buyers will benchmark SaaS workflows against gallery agents before committing to full deployments.
The Agentic Data Cloud (cross-cloud lakehouse + Knowledge Catalog) is a direct bid to become the data substrate beneath enterprise agents, pulling context ownership away from CRM and ERP vendors.
And the eighth-generation TPUs (3x training throughput, 80% better performance-per-dollar on inference) give Google a sustained cost advantage in serving agents at scale.
On top of the above, also paying attention on the $750M partner fund - embedding Google engineers inside Accenture, Deloitte, and TCS - is the go-to-market layer that makes the platform sticky.
